Concrete Poetry Workshop

Join FLAG on Saturday, April 12, 1-3 PM for a concrete poetry workshop in collaboration with the Poetry Society of New York. Led by poet and educator Jackie Braje, the workshop will explore the literary themes of A Rose Is and guide participants through the creation of their own poetry. All ages are welcome and there is no previous experience with poetry required.

Jackie Braje is a poet, educator, and arts administrator living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Braje received an MFA from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY, where she teaches poetry and creative writing. In addition to serving as the COO of the Poetry Society of New York, NY, Braje is the Managing Director of the New York City Poetry Festival and the Editorial Director of Milk Press, the publishing arm of PSNY. She was the Allerton Park Fall 2022 Artist-in-Residence and the recipient of the Himan Brown Award, and a Truman Capote Fellowship. Her work has been published in numerous magazines, including the Minnesota Review, Stoneboat Literary Journal, and VOLT, among others.
