DEEP END: Yale MFA Photography Thesis Exhibition highlights a diverse group of young artists whose practices explore the multitude of possibilities inherent in the photographic medium. Artists include Erin Desmond, Awol Erizku, Genevieve Gaignard, Hannah Hummel, Fumikazu Ishino, Casey McGonagle, Tyler Moore, Hannah Price, Billie Stultz, and Evan Whale.
DEEP END was first on view at Green Hall Gallery, Yale University, New Haven, CT, from May 12–21, 2014.
About:
Roe Ethridge (b. 1969, Miami, FL) is an artist living and working in New York, NY. Ethridge received a BFA in Photography at The College of Art in Atlanta, GA, in 1995. His work has been shown extensively at institutions around the world, including MoMA/PS1, Queens, NY (2000); Barbican Center, London, United Kingdom (2001); Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburg, PA (2002); Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MY (2005); The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (2008); Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (2010); Les Rencontres D’Arles, France (2011); among others. In 2011, Ethridge was shortlisted for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize. His first major survey, curated by Anne Pontégnie, was exhibited at Le Consortium, Dijon, France, before traveling to Museum Leuven, Belgium in 2012.
