The event will be presented within the exhibition Sam Gilliam: New Works on Paper, which includes twelve large-scale works created in 2019 and exhibited for the first time at FLAG, on view through August 16, 2019.
Jessica Morgan, Dia’s Nathalie de Gunzburg Director, will introduce Courtney J. Martin, Director, Yale Center for British Art, and curator of the exhibition Sam Gilliam, to speak about the artist’s iconic Beveled-Edge and Drape paintings from the 1960s and 1970s. Dia’s presentation of his work will be on long-term view at Dia:Beacon in Beacon, New York, beginning August 10, 2019.
